Following the success and positive comments from our previous sessions, we will be holding another informal get together at the end of November.
You are invited to join us for an Open morning on Saturday the 30th November. This will be indoors at the Alameda Sports Hall, Woburn St, Ampthill, Bedfordshire, MK45 2HX
what3words location – binders.scorched.unions. From 9.30am till 12.30pm.
There is no charge, BCAA will be providing the session for county archers, past, present and future to meet other archers from within the county and experience shooting under tournament conditions. All of which is designed to get you ready for when you shoot for the county.
We will be shooting a short round at 20 yards under the direction of Mr Brian Dunlop, if you feel that 20 yards is a bit beyond you at this stage in your archery career, let us know and we will provide shorter bosses. There will be scoring during the round, not specifically to record your score but more to go through the procedure of scoring with yourselves and for the juniors, your parent guardian, within a relaxed atmosphere amongst like minded individuals
For those of you who haven’t experienced shooting a competition this is for you, and for those of you who are experienced we’re hoping you’ll be willing and able to help any newcomers. If you have anything specific you would like to work on or want help with, this is an ideal opportunity, in particular for the parents of the juniors to unravel some of the mysteries.
We have invited experienced archers and coaches to attend. These will cover most bow types, in particular the Recurve and Compound, if you have anything specific you would like us to cover please let us know in good time. We will do our best to meet your request.
If you have a coach, they are more than welcome to attend. For the juniors we would ask that your parents or guardians are in attendance for the duration of the session.
There is no seating in the hall so if you need one please bring a chair that’s suitable for use in a sports hall and don’t forget to bring a drink
Please let us know if you will attending, email to Terry, topcat2@talk21.com or mobile to Suzi 07919 137065 similarly if you have anything specific you need to work on please advise us as soon as possible.

Following on from the very successful CAGT`s at Kestrels, Dunstable and Clophill the following is planned along with future inter county tournaments.
14th September . County Archery Get Together (CAGT) hosted by Pepperstock Archers.
Their field address. Church Rd, Luton, LU1 4BJ, parking on site . 10.15 for 10.30 start. Contact Bettina Schiefner. mobile 07494 167570, Email Bets79@hotmail.com
Please let Bettina know you are attending. All county archers are invited. These get togethers are for you, whether experienced or novice. We can all learn from each other.
The format will follow previous get togethers. An inspection of archery equipment as if you were attending a record status shoot. A 3 dozen round at 30m and shorter distances for those who feel uncomfortable at that distance
If there are any coaches who would like to attend please let us know, similarly any archers who feel they could help those needing a hand would be more than welcome to. You may even get a biscuit or two.
17/18th August. Postal County 3 way. This is to be part of the Beds County Outdoor Championships. Shot at your own club on either of those days. Details have been circulated along with the official score sheet outlining the WA900 round to be shot along with the additional junior distances. The Beds team will be picked from submitted scores. We hope every club will take part.
24th November. Beds County Indoor Championships. First session Beds V Northants. Please let us know of your availability.
I think that will do for now. Unfortunately Suzi and Terry will not be there on the 14th Sept. Play nicely and be gentle with Bettina. Remember we all do this on a voluntary basis and hopefully can pass on our vast experience and knowledge to other county archers.
